Amazon recently launched Wag, a section of their website devoted to pet food and supplies. Wag is also the name of Amazon’s in-house dog food brand. Wag dog food is currently only available for Amazon Prime members.

This strong push into pet-related ecommerce seems to be a response to PetSmart’s purchase of Chewy.com last year for $3 billion. Amazon also allows users to create a pet profile on its website, where pet parents can enter their pet’s breed, age, weight and other details and receive custom offers based on this information.
