Pet Companies Featured on Shark Tank

SharkTank is known for highlighting companies that are pushing the envelope in terms of innovation. Over the past few years, they’ve featured some very cool pet companies that have done incredible work for our furry friends.

If you’ve never heard of them – they are all definitely worth checking out.

Here’s a list of 10 awesome pet companies that were featured on SharkTank:

1. PDXPetDesign

Featured in Season 8 of SharkTank, PDXPetDesign highlighted the previous success of their flagship product, the SHRU, which is an intelligent cat toy designed to keep kitties mentally and physically engaged when their humans are away. The SHRU gives a huge tech boost to the mundane cat toy and actually adapts its settings based on how your cat interacts with the device.

The inventors, Jason and Tara O’Mara, from Portland, Oregon, were seeking a better way to connect with their cat, which lead them to draw from their engineering and technology backgrounds to design this innovative response to the cat toy!

2. Petnostics

We all love our pets and we want to make sure that they stay healthy and happy, but it’s not always easy (or affordable!) to take your pet to the veterinarian for a regular check-up. Thankfully, Petnostics has designed a way to provide reliable and affordable urine test kits that can be administered at home. Their tests are able to detect a variety of common health issues in dogs and cats.

The test is very easy to complete and the understanding the results is facilitated by simply scanning the lid of the urine cup with the Petnostics app. The hardest part will be avoiding any spills when collecting your pet’s sample!

3. BrilliantPad

What’s the worst part about owning a pet? Is it waking up at 6 AM to take them outside or cleaning up ‘mistakes’ after them?

Well, the BrilliantPad has brought forward an awesome automated solution to this problem with a self-cleaning doggy pad. This is true set it and forget it technology. The device works similar to a normal dog pad with a very simple installation, but adds a self-cleaning element that is operated through a simple timer to ensure that whenever your dog does his business, it is quickly cleaned up with a hands-off solution.

This product is the newest invention from Allan Cook, the CEO of Brilliant Pet 2, who has already introduced a self-cleaning litter box and a line of cat toys.

4. G.O.A.T. Pet Products

Michelle Winowich, the CEO and Founder of G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time) Pet Products, is a self-proclaimed ‘pet parent’ and an innovator for pet products that provide new and exciting ways for people to connect with their pets.

They have a small line of products that is led by their flagship product, the G.O.A.T. Bluetooth Pet Speaker, which is a wireless speaker that can be used to play soothing music for anxious animals.

When this speaker is paired with the app, users can record their voices and give their pets a voice or keep their pets company when they are not there.

5. BasePaws

You’ve probably heard of Ancestry.com or 23andMe, but did you know that DNA testing was available for your kitty too?

Anna Skaya, Founder of BasePaws, has been a long-time lover of cats and realized how cool it would be to have DNA information on her cats. She took her sales and business experience from Groupon Russia and applied it to this fascinating product, which has driven a ton of success for her.

The BasePaws DNA test gives pet owners insight on the breeds of their cat, percentages of wildcat DNA, important health information, and is constantly updated as their community grows.

6. Pooch Selfie

Have you ever seen someone try to take a selfie with a dog, but the dog just can’t stop moving long enough for a decent picture?

Jason Hernandez, inventor of the PoochSelfie, was struck by this brilliant idea when he noticed his wife struggling with this exact problem. He applied his mechanical engineering degree and set out to tackle the perfect pooch picture every time.

The product is super simple, but very effective for getting a dog’s attention. It was originally designed for iPhones and Android phones, but the flexible clip system makes it functional for most devices.

But that’s not all! Jason founded his company Clever Dog Products LLC, which has a whole line of exciting products in the pipeline!

7. Gallant
